Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC)

TRUE Fitness was chosen as part of a group-wide plan to improve the fitness facilities at Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge Colleges (HRUC), one of the largest further education colleges in England.

 

Richmond College was the biggest of the three projects, with a new gym built as part of an upgraded Sports Centre, which opened in September 2024.

 

TRUE worked closely with the college to devise the gym floor design and layout, with the aim of achieving a mix of equipment that would provide the widest range of exercise options for users, whilst supporting students’ learning as part of the college’s popular sports courses. The gym also supports the college’s partnerships with AFC Wimbledon and the Harlequins Foundation, the charitable arm of local Premiership Rugby side Harlequins.

 

Selectorised strength training equipment from TRUE’s Fitness Line was chosen for the facility, including dual pieces to help maximise space and workout options. This was complemented by a Power Rack, Preacher Curl and benches from TRUE’s XFW plate-loaded line, alongside the Atlas 200 Functional Trainer.

 

Cardio equipment including treadmills and upright cycles from TRUE’s 400 series, as well as the Palisade Climber, was installed, each with Emerge LED consoles. Octane products including the ADX air bike, Surge indoor cycle and XT3700 elliptical further enhance the gym’s cardio offering.

 

Earlier in the year, TRUE also upgraded the cardio equipment at Uxbridge College; the new gym at Harrow College was also recently equipped by TRUE (November 2024).
