TRUE Fitness was founded in 1981, with two core guiding principles: build the highest quality products and support them with superior service. Over the years, the fitness industry has changed, new markets have emerged and the needs of our customers have evolved, but those principles remain constant and we remain ever-vigilant in working to achieve them.
In keeping with our values, TRUE has always strived to equip our machines with the latest technology and safety features since the beginning, giving our customers the very best exercise experience possible while providing peace of mind.
TRUE Fitness continues to be the largest privately-held commercial fitness equipment manufacturer in the US, and TRUE Fitness GB supplies all TRUE Fitness and Octane products across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Meet the Team
Director
Neil Gillespie
Neil has been in the fitness and wellbeing industry for 35 years, with much of his career spent working in the corporate fitness sector. During this time, Neil held senior roles at Plus One International (NY), Tweedpark, Sona Positive Health, and Nuffield Health.
In 2010, he founded fitness and wellbeing specialists European Corporate Wellbeing Ltd., leading the organisation for 10 successful years. During this time, part of the business was sold to High Five Health Promotion BV, to expand operations across the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. The business was acquired by Westfield Health in 2020.
In his career, Neil was involved in the concept, design, and operation of over 130 fitness facilities, with projects recognised at both the ukactive Flame Awards and National Fitness Awards.
A regular Ironman competitor, Neil is passionate about all sports, fitness and wellbeing, and strives to make a positive impact on the healthy lifestyles of family, friends, colleagues and clients.

Operations Director
Sarah Sammon
Sarah Sammon - Operations Director
Sarah is a highly experienced operations and procurement professional, having held senior roles in the publishing and property sectors, before moving into the health and fitness sector in 2010 when she joined Cybex International. During her time at Cybex, the UK business experienced significant growth, and Sarah’s role expanded to Sales Operations, where she worked closely with the sales and installation teams as well as international supply chain.
More recently, Sarah was Senior Procurement Manager for UK-based fitness franchise investor, Empowered Brands. Sarah joined the TRUE Fitness GB team with extensive experience in project management, business planning and supply chain management, and works closely with TRUE’s customers and partners to deliver the superior service that TRUE is known for.
